000010 - times goes by

it seems like i've blinked and it's August 2003! time has really flown this year... so much has happened that sometimes it's hard to register let alone remember what has happened this year. my life is passing by so fast that it seems that i'm suffering from sensory deprivation by the numbness given from the speed.

japanese class was quite good; we learnt to count and more greetings, introductory questions (like oshiete kudasai, denwa bango wa nan desu ka? = please tell me your telephone number? (^__^)) and we started to read some basic japanese words (katakana). autocad was a bit tougher though. started actually trying to draw something and i'm quite lost. looks like i'll have to practice and do some actual homework this coming week...

had my annual performance review at work on thursday morning with lyndal and eileen. wasn't too nervous as i've been pretty confident with my own work this past year with maybe the possible exception of the bendigo project which recently had some problems. got some fairly negative feedback and comments from the client survey which really put me down for that day. i guess there's nothing much to do except to learn from what's been criticised.

was very lucky to download all 11 tracks of jay chow's new album on friday night. while i'm definitely not condoning downloading music off the net and not supporting the artist, as i was intending the get the physical album as soon as i could find it, i find it pretty friggin' amazing that the album only came out on the 31 July and i (and perhaps many others) was able to download it, sample it and enjoy it on 1 August!! also caught up with michelle on icq, which was nice and she introduced me to some pretty cool jazz music by a guy named jamie cullum.

usual lunch with ma, pa and gran' mama was cool. she was actually working that day, which made me happier for some reason. (i don't know, i really like her smile and how her eyes goes all small when she does. really cute.) it was super busy that day, not that that's ever made a difference as i've never been able to find the guts to talk to her other than to say a "hi" or "bye"... sigh, anyway, i hope she took it easy after work...

actually picked up jay's ye hui mei album that day, too (see, i told you). have listened to it too many times and still like it. the VCD mini-movies and MV are quite cool, too. oh, i also got my winning prizes (for the Ozcomics.com 24 hours comic challenge)- Scott McCloud's Understanding Comics and Reinventing Comics. really looking forward to reading these but will have to find the time!

ended up doing some colouring in photoshop on saturday night because apparently no one were interested in going out to dinner with P and crew when he sent out the invite on friday. was looking forward to catching up with the gang but i guess i made it a productive night. sort of.

yum-cha with abby and bryce was really cool today. was a bit worried because we didn't book a table and it was quite busy when we got to dragonboat palace. luckily didn't have to wait long and had some nice mad (and fast) dim sum. couldn't get bryce (a yum-cha virgin) to try the "phoenix claw" (chicken feet... hmm, yummmm) though. after that i went to the lounge and met up with darren and crew for his launch of the Ozcomics Magazine. the mag looks neat and i tried to help out where i could (on my request, my contribution has to remain a secret for now). hope this mag takes off.

it's a mad crazy week for me this coming week. last i looked at the resource planner at work, i have about 50+ hours of work to pull off which seems highly unlikely to achieve. got to fit in time to study and do some homework for the night classes. got to finish the pencils of the pinup for mark still. got to do more colouring in photoshop. got to do more html on the website (i want to launch it this month as it's the 3rd anniversary of the site). got to work on more knight-edge pages, too. if i survive, i'm sure i'll let you know!

i don't consider time as my enemy. we're just not on the best of terms at the moment! (-__-)
