the crowd roars with euphoria as the gates are flung open for the race of the century! every horse and its jockey pounds the dirt track like thunder; treading the grass and soil in a chaos of debris as they race for the flash finish ahead. the galloping stallions strain every muscle vying for pole position, their diminutive but determined drivers howler and whip in rhythm.

meanwhile a late starter, staggers embarrassingly from the starting line... hovering behind the pack and barely able to withhold its last position with the rest of the graceful competitors.

i feel like that last horse at the moment. although i know i'm not in a race or competition with the new chosen path that i've undertaken, it has been a rather uneventful start. i swear i caught some sort of bug after playing indoor soccer on sunday, my throat felt like someone forced me to swallow one of those steel wooly things you wash your wok and pots with. i was so paranoid i even thought i might have caught SARS!!

as much as i hate to have an excuse to take it easy and bludge my first few days of unemployment/freedom, i have officially (who makes it official anyways? do i get a certificate?) got a flu. i haven't been this sick in a while (haha, thank you for the smart comment in the backrow about how i'm always sick. very funny you. we'll discuss my pervertiness another time thankyouverymuch). even went as far as to take chinese medicine! (*yuck* bitter *yuck*)

whoever's got stock in kleenex is going to make a killing in the next couple of days...

i have made an effort to make a start on my art in my quasi-delusional state though (maybe it'll actually make it all look better). i just need to push myself a bit more in starting that HQ competition soon, do a lot more work on knight-edge issue 3 pages and finish that new knight-edge.com website including the most important portfolio page.

meanwhile, i'm also contemplating doing a few kill bill fan-art / pin-ups just because from the previews and ads i've seen have really got me excited and inspired about the visual of the characters. we'll see how i feel when i wake up tomorrow i guess...
