000038 - please read the instructions carefully

while i was driving into uni today, i somehow had the profound thought of what material was one of my favorite jumpers that i was wearing today. so not exactly paying attention to the road because it was morning traffic jam, i reached down for the tag thingie and had a quick look see* (obvious i wasn't going to reach for the one behind my neck since it would have look friggin' awkward and there wasn't any way for me to look it *that* way was there? O_o).

this led me to thinking that most of everything in our lives comes with some sort of an instruction or another. you buy a piece of clothing, it'll tell you how you should wash it, iron it and not to roll around with it! you buy a car, a VCR, a DVD, a digicam, a computer, a software program, they ALL come with an instruction booklet. heck, i'm sure if there was enough room on a cigarette packet, they'd probably fit little educational drawings of someone choking on smoke.

i was going to make a comment about why there isn't an instructional booklet for how to live your life. but i guess that would be a little be stringent on our ever, some might say trivial, pursuit of freedom wouldn't it? imagine if someone actually wrote a "Life For Dummies" book! (or is there one in existence already?!) would anyone actually read it? who would police it's authenticity?

and yes, i do realise that some people out there would probably point out that there's already such an instruction book in existence and it's called the bible. but come on, where's all the isometric exploded diagrams? where 's that chapter on puberty and masturbation? does turning water into wine and bread into fish really going to impress the ladies??

anyway, back to daily life stuff... handed in my individual project brief facts and then subsequently got more homework for the next part of our project. ai ai ai-yah. seems like there's a few birthdays amongst our class this month. belated happy b-day to my new classmates andrew last week and one to pernille this coming weekend!

i'm too buggered to write anything more, must hit the hay and count sheeps until i sleep. the sandman better come and knock me out good tonight after last night of staring up at the ceiling in the dark...
