000044 - no strings attached (final)
do you save the best for last?
i have very vague memories of my trip to singapore/thailand/malaysia when i was just 7 years old. one memory i have involved eating this really yummy coconut flavoured rice noodles. i remember i loved it so much i saved most of it until i finished everything else so it would be the very last thing i tasted. this old man sitting next to me noticed me doing this and asked what if i was too full by the end of my meal & couldn't eat what i deemed to be my favorite at the end?
of course i showed him. although i was full, i still ate that yummy coconut rice noodles. i also got really sick right afterwards and had to stay at the hotel while my parents went to watch a transvestite cabaret show.
...
if there was a moral to this story, i'd have to figure it out and tell you another day! meanwhile, one last time for the agideas design event i went to last week :
day three
they certainly saved most of the best speakers until the last day that's for sure. probably the most enjoyable day in my opinion. highlights includes stuart crossett (who's a photographer that manipulates pictures for ads; amazingly he built a lot of miniatures models instead of photoshop crazy), celine clarke (an industrial designer who sounds like she built an empire from a cardboard drawer design), susumu endo (simply amazing japanese photographer designer who did photoshop effects way before photoshop had ever been invented!), dean lyon (who runs a special effects company in new zealand that does a lot of fantastic ad and film work), and finally, simon waterfall (who sounds like he's done quite a few very big brand advertising designs / branding and was a very confident speaker. i didn't exactly agree with everything he said, but i got most of what he was driving at).
when it finished, didn't go to the after party but just got a drink with andrew and then went and caught up with some old friends from work for dinner in hardware lane.
i have to honestly admit, i tend to procrastinate when it comes to doing homework. although it's been quite a while since i've had to do homework, assignments or whatnot, but boy i'll find just about anything to do instead of doing homework. like the laundry, making lunch, washing dishes, surfing the net, chatting with friends...
hmm, maybe i don't save all the best for last after all!
