000049 - going potty
yes, i have to admit, i'm a bit of a pot-head. although i haven't had the time to read the latest hardcover (i'd like to read it all in one go soon), i'm really looking forward to the third instalment, prisoner of azkaban, coming out in the cinemas later this week!
speaking of movies, saw quite a few over the weekend with cutie. we watched:
troy - which was better than i thought since i had heard poor reviews and had low expectations. still not as good as gladiator though;
lost in translation - disappointed as i think it's way overrated. i held off from seeing it at the cinemas because i had a feeling it was playing on stereotypes and making fun for the sake of an american audience and i was pretty much correct. it has it's moments but it's not "awesome";
princess blade - i've been hanging to see this one as it keeps being unavailable whenever we go to the video store! finally got it and all i got from it were really excellent choreographed fight scenes! very lacking in plot and has that melodramatic acting i come to expect from most japanese movies. the settings/locations lacked the 'umph' for a futuristic apocalyptic japan!;
returner - this was another one i've been hanging to see mainly because i think takeshi kaneshiro (check out space travellers) is pretty cool. and luckily this didn't disappoint. really loved it. great pacing and action. acting is pretty good and the special effects are great too. i could see myself watching this movie again and that's what makes a good movie for me!!
gonna try and do some homework this week. socialise a bit with cutie and some uni friends. and hopefully have a crack at the ozcomics 24 hrs comic challenge this weekend. this will be my 3rd attempt and i hope i can get 24 pages done in 24 hours.
reckon i can do it??
