000095 - changes from top to bottom

been a while since my last blog. lots of highs and lows, here's a quick summary:

got a pair of new glasses about 2 weeks ago. went back to the plastic frame style since i've found i'm not really much for the metal frames with those little nose guard thingies.

both the job interviews i mentioned in my previous post turned out to be a negative. i know this sounds like sour grapes or whatever the saying is, but i was kinda hoping i didn't get them after i found out more about the roles from the interviews. although i didn't want to under-appreciate the opportunities, i did still feel rejected emotionally nevertheless. would you call that ironic or hypocritical?

anyway, for the most of that week, i felt really out of it. to add salt to injury, that mobile phone fine became reality in the mailbox and it was friggin' 141 bucks and 3 demerit points!! not happy jan. not happy at all.

topping that week off, my mobile phone for no reason suddenly died on me! software looked totally fucked. and even though the dealer said there was a 1 year international warranty when it was brought in HK last december, the authorised phone repair here just won't touch it... so now i'm hoping it can be fixed. it's a really good phone, too.

so with not much going on, i decided i should pick myself up and start working on the multiple projects that i've commited to somehow. there's the knight-edge video game that started with discussion with my friend, josh, early last year but i've yet to have done anything about it! there's 2 other comic projects, one of which i've only done a couple of rough character sketches for. and the there's knight-edge #4, which needs to be worked on since i've only done 2 penciled pages so far. would be good if i can release it just before doujicon which is july 29. after some calculations, that's an average of 1 fully finished page (incl. inks, tones & lettered) per day if i had started 2 weeks ago!!

speaking of doujicon, i'm also responsible for making the website for this convention. i thought with the break from freelance work, i could draw during the day and work on the html coding and website at nights.

of course as if on cue after i had just made a start and good progress on both, freelance work returned with vengence! i just cleared up those plates late yesterday!! however, just to remind me that everything in my life isn't running as smoothly recently, they've yet to pay last month's invoice!

lastly, found a bargain for my feet and i got me a pair of these:

Yep, I know exactly what you mean about not getting a job that you were feeling ambivalent about anyway - it's nice to be wanted! Hope you find something much better and that you can really connect with, and also that you get to Knight-Edge #4! Glasses 'r' good.
