seems like eons since i lasted blogged. so here's a quick update of what went on to the best of my memory:
uni. finished all my projects mid-november, which means i finished my course! got my results early this week. can't believe i'm now a master of design (multimedia design). strange. currently worried with the prospect of looking for work since i know no one in the fields i want to get into (motion design or animation). been really busy this week helping out with the graduation exhibition.
work. got a freelance storyboard gig for an ad agency, so at least i have some form of income and pay off the upcoming christmas bills and debts. working on my showreel, get a new domain name (any suggestions?) and designing self-promotion material so i can send out to companies.
comics. haven't read much, not even the stuff i got from supanova sydney. i got the
platinum grit trades in the mail late november. yay! um,
peng was fantastic.
withheld by
bobby n. was a great read also. so is
airshell by
lia fiengo. haven't had any time yet to work more on
knight-edge #4 or
shiranui but i do plan to soon. don't forget to make nominations for the
2nd annual ledger awards as shown by the banner above. if the
operation funnybone book does come out before christmas or before end of the year, that's the only thing you could nominate me for. still need to work on pages for a submission and a pitch for a writer friend, too. plus i also want to start planning for project: giant.
movies.wolf creek. freakin' intense aussie movie. i wouldn't call it scary myself, more stressing. slow setup, but pretty strong payoff. not recommended for the weak.
harry potter and the goblet of fire. this is my favourite book out of the series but the movie isn't as good as the last.
seven swords. was expecting a bit more fantasy and sword myths from director tsui hak new film. it's ok, especially the middle but not as good as i was hoping it to be.
games.fahrenheit. awesome game. i was so addicted to this "interactive movie" style game directed by david cage and produced by quantic dreams, that i had to finish it on the weekend i brought it! kind of mix of shenmu gameplay (which i love) with really well characterisation. great cinematic soundtrack, too.
genji. haven't had a chance to play this as much, but really love the graphics and atmosphere. again the production value like motion capture is just really smooth and nice. again, lovely lovely soundtrack.
(also have to find time to work on a video game project with the talented
josh, that we both discussed earlier this year.)
tv. watching
futurama on dvd like an addict.
arrested development is hilarious but sad that it's been axed. can't believe i'm addict of this korean drama series either,
dae jang geum.
now i wish i could just take a breather and have a rest...
